Helen Aileen Buckles, 92, of Decatur, passed away at 10:10 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2011, in Imboden Creek Living Center.
Her family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Burial will be in Lake Bank Cemetery, Latham, IL. A service to celebrate Helen’s life will be at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church with Rev. Joel Stevenor officiating. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Helen was born August 8, 1918 in Warrensburg, IL the daughter of Clifford Jesse and Sarah Elizabeth (Woodside) Stone. She married Lester Buckles on December 24, 1936. He preceded her in death on December 28, 2007.
She was a member of the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church. She also was a member of the Prime Timer’s group at the Macon County Farm Bureau and a member of the Classic Ones. Helen loved to play bridge, was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting.
She is survived by her daughters: Coline Mae Ganley and her husband William of Decatur and Linda Kay Weller and her husband Richard of Hindsboro, IL; grandchildren: Darin Williams and his wife Lisa of Indianapolis, IN, Damon Williams and his wife Cindy of Collinsville, IL, Deana Hyde and her husband Tony of Cerro Gordo, IL and Devon Weller and his wife Janet of Fairview, TN; great-grandchildren: Jon David and Jesse Williams, Jacob and Joshua Williams, Cora Hyde, Samuel, Jonathan and Kate Weller.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Lester; twin sons: Robert and Richard; and her four sisters.
